Chemical composition of 6150 steel plate:

- Carbon (C): The carbon content is in the range of 0.48% to 0.53%. Carbon is a key element that provides strength to the steel, but an excessive amount may lead to brittleness.

- Silicon (Si): The silicon content ranges from 0.15% to 0.35%. Silicon helps to improve the oxidation resistance and high-temperature performance of the steel.

- Manganese (Mn): It is present in the range of 0.70% to 0.90%. Manganese can enhance the hardenability and tensile strength of the steel.

- Chromium (Cr): The chromium content is between 0.80% and 1.10%. Chromium contributes to the corrosion resistance and hardenability of the steel.

- Vanadium (V): Vanadium content is greater than or equal to 0.15%. Vanadium helps in grain refinement, reducing the overheating sensitivity, and improving the strength and toughness of the steel.

- Sulfur (S) and Phosphorus (P): The sulfur content is less than or equal to 0.040%, and the phosphorus content is less than or equal to 0.035%. These are impurity elements, and lower contents are preferred to ensure the quality and performance of the steel.

Properties of 6150 steel plate:

- Mechanical properties:

- High strength: It has a high tensile strength, with a minimum tensile strength of 1274 MPa (130 kgf/mm²) and a yield strength of at least 1127 MPa (115 kgf/mm²). This makes it suitable for applications that require high strength to bear heavy loads.

- Good ductility: The elongation rate is greater than or equal to 10%, and the section shrinkage rate is greater than or equal to 40%, indicating that the steel has good ductility and can be deformed to a certain extent without fracture.

- High fatigue strength: Due to its fine microstructure and appropriate alloy composition, 6150 steel plate has high fatigue strength, which is important for applications where the material is subjected to cyclic loading.

- Heat treatment properties: It has good response to heat treatment. Through quenching at 850°C ± 20°C and tempering at 500°C ± 50°C (or ± 30°C in special cases), the steel can obtain the desired mechanical properties and microstructure, such as a tempered troostite or a mixed structure of troostite and sorbite.

- Machinability: The machinability of 6150 steel is relatively good, which is convenient for processing and manufacturing into various parts and components.

Uses of 6150 steel plate:

- Spring manufacturing: As a high-quality spring steel, it is widely used in the production of various springs, such as large-section high-load important springs, valve springs, piston springs, and safety valve springs that work at temperatures below 300°C.

- Automobile industry: It is used in the manufacturing of automotive suspension spring plates and other components that require high strength and good elasticity.

- Machinery manufacturing: Applied in the manufacturing of machinery parts and components that need to bear heavy loads and have high strength requirements, such as gears, shafts, and connecting rods.

- Tool manufacturing: Used for making various tools and dies due to its high strength and wear resistance.
